Karen and I are so proud of Cameron for his athletic and leadership skills.

I also wanted to fill everyone in on what the students at the Institute have been learning this year so far. The Old Testament Survey class was taught by Karen, Mitch Maher, and Bob Cornuke. The sessions received outstanding feedback from the students. They really loved seeing how the OT books fit chronologically into each other and how God revealed Himself repeatedly throughout the OT. We have also learned the purpose of having a vision statement, how to share our faith, and work through the apologetics of our faith. Overall, it has been an incredible semester so far!

Well, it's all good here in Branson! God has blessed me in every breath I take. Take a look at this article about Cameron :)

http://www.bransondailynews.com/story.php?storyID=9269

Go Pirates!!

We had a fun night last night as we traveled to Republic for the last football game of regular season. As of last week, Cameron is starting at quarterback for the Varsity! It has been really fun watching him play and watching Callie cheer for her younger/bigger brother! We won our game last night, which means we are in the State playoffs!! We will head to Webb City on Wednesday for the first game of post season. It is so fun and exciting and the best part is that Cameron is giving God all the glory. Jesus is #1 in his heart and we love to see him shine his light in such a mighty way! Here is a link to the article about the game. I hope you enjoy reading it.

http://www.bransondailynews.com/story.php?storyID=9170

From the words of a kamper

Here is an encouraging note from a former kamper. I pray that these words bless you as you read it. Praying for you, Keith

As a young kid I had an amazing opportunity to attend K7 as a kamper. In fact, I got to go for 3 summers in a row. Being that this was many years ago now and that I was only 9 years old by my third and final summer, my memories of kamp aren’t very sharp. I do remember that the skits were so funny, the waterslide was really high, my counselors braided my hair for me, and my party outfit was turquoise with sequins on it. I also remember the cross-walk, that I didn’t own a Bible, and I that I knew very little about Christ. I am sure that the Lord taught me tons while I was at kamp, but the problem was that I left kamp each summer and did not follow up in any way. I came home to an unchurched family and was left without any guidance for further growth.
Looking back, I would’ve done a few things differently. I would have definitely done a better job staying in touch with my counselors. It is such a special opportunity to have more mature followers of Christ pouring into me. I believe that I would have benefited greatly had I responded to my counselors’ letters in order to keep in touch as well as seek their wisdom and advice. Also, I would have asked my parents to take me or send me with a friend to Sunday school and/or youth group. By doing this I would’ve been able to continue learning about Christ, develop a relationship with Him, and have like-minded friends to help build each other up! With these two simple things of keeping up with my counselors and attending youth group I believe my walk with Christ and knowledge of the Word would’ve grown a lot. Now, as kampers, y’all even have an opportunity to spend time with the Lord in His word daily through the Champion’s Walk! What a great way to grow in your faith- don’t miss that chance!
My challenge to you is to stay active in your faith. Don’t get stuck in the cycle of the “kamp high”. Seek to know the Lord more in depth outside of kamp! Find help from someone older and wiser! It doesn’t matter what that looks like for you, but take steps to stay connected in a community of believers, stay in the Word, and stay in Christ!

Blessings to you,
Sarah Bishop

Friday Night Lights

Remember us tonight as the Branson Pirates play the Willard Tigers. The trees are starting to change color and the coolness of the air is such a welcomed relief. This last weekend I had an incredible time. Cameron and I went down to the Buffalo river and we repelled off the the Eye of the Needle, a 300ft. repel. You talk about an adrenaline rush, it was awesome. Callie and Karen spent Saturday shopping, a little bit of a contrast, but I am sure it was fun just the same. Saturday night we all watched a movie together, I think it was called "Not Another Cinderella Movie." it was cute. I am always a sap for a sweet movie and I am definately a sap for laying around with my family. Callie loves sweet movies. Sunday we watched the Cowboys beat the Packers. All the Institute folks came to our house and we cooked hot dogs. It was a blast. Last night Cameron played in the JV Football game. He threw 2 touchdowns, ran for 2 touchdowns, and ran in 4 2pt. conversions...not a bad night. I was so proud! It sure is fun being a daddy. Here is a couple of pictures I thought you might like!

Homecoming

Cameron and Callie are planning on going to the Homecoming dance this Friday with a large group of people.
